Phung Lai

Phung Lai is an Assistant Professor at the University at Albany, SUNY, since August 2023, with a robust research background in machine learning and artificial intelligence. Previously, Phung served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, collaborating with institutions like NSF and Adobe on projects involving interpretable machine learning and differential privacy in natural language processing. Phung also interned at Adobe, focusing on differential privacy in document understanding, and held research roles at Oregon State University and Nanyang Technological University, contributing to projects in histopathological image analysis and wafer bonding in 3D IC. Educational credentials include a PhD in Information Systems from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Oregon State University, and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Da Nang University of Technology.
