Karen Caldwell's work experience begins in 2007 as a Consultant for Professional Development and Staff Training at the Ministry of Education, where they worked on a national education reform project. Karen then became an Instructor at Zayed University until 2011.

In 2011, they took on the role of Trade Commissioner for Education and Training at the Canadian Embassy, where they managed projects such as the Middle East Education Initiative Tour and conducted market research.

From 2011 to 2013, Karen worked as the Outreach and Learning Services Manager at the University of Waterloo, where they designed and facilitated various learning programs and outreach initiatives.

Subsequently, Karen held teaching positions at Zayed University, Bahrain Polytechnic, and Higher Colleges of Technology from 2013 to 2017.

In 2018, they became self-employed as an Education Consultant, focusing on research, development, and instructional design of employment and training solutions, incorporating cognitive and brain sciences and new technologies.

Since 2017, Karen has also been serving as an Adjunct Faculty, Senior Academic Adviser, and Research Fellow at Johns Hopkins University School of Education, specifically in the Doctor of Education program.

Currently, Karen is working as an Assistant Professor at SUNY Potsdam, primarily in the School of Education and Professional Studies. Karen collaborates with colleagues in student services and leads courses in human capital development, instructional design, leadership, organization development, and policy.

Throughout their career, Karen has demonstrated expertise in education, training, research, and program management.

Karen Caldwell obtained their Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Mind, Brain and Teaching from the Johns Hopkins University School of Education, graduating in 2018. Prior to that, they earned a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University Bloomington from 2009 to 2011. In 2000 to 2002, Karen obtained a Master of Arts degree in Curriculum, Teaching, and Learning from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto. Karen also holds a Graduate Diploma in English language (DELTA) from the University of Cambridge, which they completed from 1998 to 2000. In 1994 to 1995, Karen completed a Graduate Diploma in Second Language Education from McGill University. Karen'sundergraduate studies were conducted from 1990 to 1994 at McGill University, where they obtained a BA degree in Latin American & Caribbean Studies.

Additionally, Karen Caldwell has a certification as an IELTS Examiner in writing and speaking, which they obtained from the British Council in November 2003.
