Christopher Cooper

Christopher Cooper serves as the Director of Viral Vaccines at IAVI, leading vaccine research and development to advance candidates into clinical trials while mentoring multidisciplinary research teams. Their extensive experience includes roles as Nonclinical Director at IAVI, Principal Investigator/Immunologist at USAMRIID, and Principal Immunology Consultant at Healion Bio, with a research focus on immune mechanisms and vaccine design. Christopher also holds a position as Research Assistant Professor at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. With a PhD in Immunology from Johns Hopkins University and a BS in Cellular and Molecular Biology from San Diego State University, Christopher has a robust background in innovative research methodologies and immune response studies.
