Tammer Saleh has over 20 years of experience in the tech industry. Tammer began their career in 1996 as a Unix Systems Administrator at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). In 2000, they moved to the National Center for Supercomputing Applications as a Research Programmer. In 2003, they became a Unix Systems Administrator at Citysearch. In 2004, they took a position as Network Administrator at the Southern California Seismic Network, where they managed a distributed stream processing system. In 2006, they joined Thoughtbot, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer, where they developed the shoulda testing framework and Airbrake. In 2009, they became an Independent Consultant. In 2010, they took a role as VP Engineering at Engine Yard, where they managed the flagship cloud product and opened the first satellite office in Portland. In 2011, they co-founded Thunderbolt Labs, a consulting and development company. In 2013, they joined Pivotal, Inc. as VP Engineering, Cloud Foundry, where they ran a 300+ engineering organisation of 50 teams in seven offices across three continents. Tammer was also Senior Director of Engineering, Cloud Foundry, EMEA and Director R&D, Cloud Foundry, EMEA. In 2017, they founded SuperOrbital, a company that transforms companies through Kubernetes training and engineering.
Tammer Saleh graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science, having started their studies there in 1996.
