Muskan Sachdeva

Process Development Engineer at Supira Medical

Muskan Sachdeva has been working in the engineering field since 2018. Muskan began their career at Ryerson University as a Research Student in Collaboration with Sunnybrook Hospital, supervised by Dr. Victor Yang. During their time there, they generated a pulley-tendon system via CAD to increase joint conformity & gripping strength of artificial fingers, liaised between R&D & manufacturing manager to investigate root cause of failed/defective components, performed on-site troubleshooting of MIA prototype to ensure appropriate motor function for artificial actuation, and led a project to redesign & maintain a $250 budget, saving a projected $500 for the development of the MIA. Additionally, they developed a 2nd order hardware circuit design via a reflective optical sensor & bandpass filter to quantify change in blood volumes & attenuate noise/undesired frequencies by 35%, and designed a safety component system via a diode to remove negative voltages to the microcontroller & limit infrared LED exposure, creating a minimally invasive system. In 2021, they joined Essential Machines, Inc. as a Biomedical Engineer. Currently, they are a Graduate Research Assistant at San Jose State University, and will be starting as a Process Development Engineer at Supira Medical in 2022.

Muskan Sachdeva obtained their Bachelor of Engineering - BE in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Ryerson University between 2015 and 2019. Muskan then pursued a Master's degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering at San Jose State University, which they are expected to complete in 2021. In 2016, they obtained a CPR & AED certification from St.John Ambulance First Aid industry training & Health.
