Derek Somerville

Derek Somerville serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Sierra Partners Consulting, a certified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business that specializes in advisory, consulting, and staff augmentation services for Energy and Utility organizations across North America. Additionally, Derek is the Principal and Co-Owner of Sure Power Consulting, which offers cross-sector expertise to clients in the United States, Canada, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. Derek's previous roles include Vice President and General Manager at DS Waters, Vice President of Customer Finance, and Special Agent at the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Early in the career, Derek held the position of Vice President of Finance and Administration at Pepsi MidAmerica and served on the Board of Regents at Murray State University. Derek's military background includes service as a US Marine from 1990 to 1994, with deployments during Iraq's Desert Storm and missions in El Salvador and Somalia. Education includes a Bachelor of Science from Murray State University and specialized training at the Navy Marine Corps Intelligence Training Center and the FBI Academy.
