Gary Fairley

Gary Fairley is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in information security and governance, currently serving as the Head of Information Security and Governance at Sureserve since July 2017. Previously, Gary held various positions within the Scottish Government from April 1998 to July 2017, including IT Security Manager, Cyber and Information Risk Adviser, and Digital Transition Manager, where responsibilities included managing digital-ICT transition planning and overseeing the implementation of ICT shared services. Additional roles encompassed consultancy services, policy management in community services, and training coordination in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Gary's early career included positions in HR administration at National Museums Scotland and as Assistant Listings Manager at Historic Scotland. A co-host and producer of the VCDL Cycling Podcast from 2010 to 2014, Gary's diverse background is complemented by a commitment to improving public services and business processes.
