Susan Garcia Jones, MA, is a seasoned educational leader specializing in curriculum development, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. Currently serving as the National Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Surge Institute, Susan leads the alignment of program curriculum to enhance instructional delivery and advocates for equity-centered learning. Previously, as Program Director of Surge Academy, Susan tailored leadership development programs for BIPOC educators and provided extensive mentorship. At KIPP Public Schools Northern California, Susan held multiple roles, including Associate Director of Culture, where DEI initiatives were designed to support BIPOC staff and promote an equitable workplace. Susan's diverse experience is complemented by a Master of Arts in Religion from the Graduate Theological Union and a Bachelor of Arts in Religion, Theater, and Classics from Dartmouth College.
