Nicholas Stewart, Ph.D. has held various research positions over the years. Nicholas is currently a Senior Research Scientist at Surgo Health, a healthcare technology company that aims to personalize health and reduce inequities by studying the behavioral, social, and contextual factors that drive healthcare outcomes. Previously, they held multiple research positions at Surgo Foundation, an "action" tank that combines public health data with psycho-behavioral segmentation analyses to address complex health outcome problems. Before that, they were a Research Scientist (Project Manager) and Teaching Fellow at Universite Nice Sophia Antipolis and a Research Scientist at Michigan Technological University. Nicholas also worked as a Gas Geochemistry Intern at the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory-USGS and as a Geologist at the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

Nicholas Stewart, Ph.D. obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Geology/Earth Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2011. Nicholas received their GIS Certificate from the same institution in May 2011. From 2013 to 2015, they completed their Master of Science in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences from Michigan Technological University. Then, they pursued their Doctor of Philosophy in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences from Université Côte d'Azur from 2015 to 2018.
