Derek Lawrence

Derek Lawrence has worked in the IT industry since 2003. Derek began their career as a Supervisor at Jolt Electric in 2003. Derek then moved on to Accu-Tech Technologies in 2005, where they were Lead MWD Field Hand. In 2007, they joined WellBenders Directional Services as Directional Coordinator, Well Planner and IT Tech. In 2009, they took on the role of Consultant at Supervisor. In 2011, they began working at Kelford Energy, LLC as Lead MWD/Directional Consultant. That same year, they also joined Cudd Directional Services as Lead MWD Field Engineer. In 2012, they took on the role of Lead Directional Driller at Big Horn Directional Incorporated. Derek then moved to Weatherford in 2018, where they were Directional Operations Supervisor. Most recently, they joined Suryl, LLC in 2021 as Lead Information Technology Analyst.

Derek Lawrence is currently enrolled at Columbia Southern University, where they are in the process of obtaining an Information Technology degree. Prior to this, they attended Weatherford College, Blinn College, and Bryan College. Derek obtained their high school diploma from Cypress Falls High School in 1999. In addition to their degree, Lawrence has obtained several certifications, including Certified Data Information Specialist, Certified Webpage Designer, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft Office Specialist: Associate (Microsoft 365 Apps and Office 2019), Microsoft PowerPoint (Microsoft 365 Apps and Office 2019), Microsoft Word (Microsoft 365 Apps and Office 2019), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Associate of Arts, Microsoft Excel (Microsoft 365 Apps and Office 2019), Information Technology Certification, CompTIA A+, and Microsoft Excel (Microsoft 365 Apps and Office 2019).
