Courtni Bolt

Director of Urbana Laboratories Operations at Sus Clinicals

Courtni Bolt is a Research Specialist in the Department of Animal Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She earned both her B.S. and M.S. in Animal Sciences from the University of Illinois in 2015 and 2018, respectively. Courtni has extensive experience studying animals as biomedical models for human disease. Mentored by Dr. Romana Nowak in the Reproductive Health and Toxicology Lab, her M.S. project focused on the laying hen as a model for uterine fibroids. Courtni’s first role as Research Specialist took place in the Integrative Immunology and Behavior Lab under Dr. Rodney Johnson and Dr. Sandra Rodriguez-Zas where she managed the Maternal Immune Activation project using a validated swine model. Currently, she works in the Comparative Genomics Lab supervised by Dr. Lawrence Schook. Her role is to coordinate and execute all Oncopig procedures and research projects on the Urbana campus, manage the Oncopig breeding and experimental herds, and coordinate with collaborators from other institutions to facilitate future research projects. Courtni’s responsibilities with Sus Clinicals include ensuring regulatory compliance as it pertains to Oncopigs in clinical research.
