Director, Community Health Evaluation at Susan G. Komen

Janet Okamoto has a diverse work experience in the field of community health evaluation and health disparities research. Janet currently works at Susan G. Komen as the Director of Community Health Evaluation. Prior to that, they held the position of Sr. Manager of Community Health Evaluation at the same organization. Between 2012 and 2019, Janet worked at Mayo Clinic as an Assistant Professor, where they focused on health equity and health disparities research in a community-based setting. Janet was involved in examining social network influences on health behaviors. Before joining Mayo Clinic, Janet worked as a CRTA Post-Doctoral Fellow at The National Cancer Institute from 2010 to 2012. Janet also served as a Pre-doctoral Trainee at the University of Southern California from 2005 to 2010.

Janet Okamoto holds a PhD in Preventive Medicine with a specialization in Health Behavior Research from the University of Southern California. Janet obtained their PhD degree from 2004 to 2010. Prior to their doctoral studies, they pursued a Master's in Public Health (MPH) at the University of Southern California from 2000 to 2001, focusing on Public Health. Janet completed their undergraduate studies at Arizona State University from 1996 to 2000 and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Exercise Science.
