Margaret Pierce

Trustee at Susquehanna University

Margaret Pierce is a trustee at Susquehanna University. Margaret previously worked as a Sr. Business Resiliency and Crisis Management Consultant at Aetna from March 2015 to August 2018. In this role, they directed and implemented resiliency strategies, plans, lessons learned and process improvement to promote risk protection for crisis management and business continuity. Margaret also designed and facilitated crisis event exercises ranging from hurricane impacts to active shooter response.

From November 2009 to March 2015, Pierce worked as an Emergency Management Programs Analyst at the Stephenson Disaster Management Institute. In this role, they were responsible for developing and managing emergency preparedness programs.

Pierce also worked as a Program Coordinator at LSU AgCenter from January 2008 to December 2010. In this role, they coordinated LaHouse, a statewide residential hurricane risk-reduction program.

From January 2005 to December 2006, Pierce served as the Assistant Director of the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness for Ascension Parish Government. In this role, they were responsible for developing and implementing the parish’s homeland security and emergency preparedness plan.

Margaret Pierce obtained a MA in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. Margaret also holds a Graduate Certificate in Emergency Management from Jacksonville State University. Her undergraduate degree is a BA in Secondary Education from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Margaret has also done some graduate studies in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of New Orleans and Landscape Architecture at the University of Florida.
