Klaus Wiesen has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Klaus started their career as an Intern at Volkswagen AG in 2009 before becoming a Research Assistant at Universität Kassel. In 2010, they joined the Wuppertal Institut für Klima, Umwelt, Energie gGmbH as a Research Fellow, where they worked on coordinating research activities in sustainability assessment and collaborating with various industries and government entities. Klaus then became a Project Coordinator, responsible for managing research projects in the same organization. In 2017, Klaus became the CEO and Co-Founder of sustainabill – part of VERSO, where they played a significant role in providing sustainable supply chain solutions. Currently, they hold the position of Co-Head Sustainable Supply Chain at sustainabill. Additionally, they are a Sustainable Procurement Ambassador for The Sustainable Procurement Pledge since 2020. From 2003 to 2007, Klaus Wiesen attended Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, where they obtained a degree in Technikjournalismus. Following that, they pursued a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Renewable Energies at HAWK - University of Applied Science and Arts, from 2007 to 2010.
