Junhao Yang

Senior Scientist/scientist at Sutro Biopharma

Junhao Yang began their work experience as an Engineer at the Shanghai Institute of Industrial Microbiology from October 1989 to August 1997. Junhao then moved on to Stanford University where they worked as a Research Associate from September 2001 to October 2005, and later as a Senior Scientist/Scientist at Sutro Biopharma, Inc. starting from March 2008. At Stanford University, Junhao focused on developing an industrialized cell-free technology and strain development in E. coli cells through gene inactivation and integration. At Sutro Biopharma, Inc., they were responsible for strain development and improving cell-extract performance by knocking out genes using lambda-Red mediated dsDNA recombination.

Junhao Yang obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Fudan University, China, from 1981 to 1985. Junhao then pursued a Master's degree in Fermentation Engineering at Wuxi University of Light Industry, China, between 1985 and 1988. Later on, from 1997 to 2001, Junhao Yang earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular Biology from Ngoya University.
