Steve Dowey

Steve Dowey holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Surface Coatings, Statistics and Control, along with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Engineering, Design and Manufacture. Currently, Steve serves as Senior Manager of Industrial Automation and Senior Lecturer at RMIT University, specializing in Design for Assembly and Automation and Design for Manufacture, with a focus on Industry 4. In addition, Steve has been the Technology Manager at Sutton Tools Pty Ltd since 2010, emphasizing research and development in cutting tool productivity through advanced tool design. Previous roles include Technical Manager at Surface Technology Coatings and Ioncoat Ltd, where support was provided to US PVD OEMs in Europe and Japan, and Engineering Technician in the Royal Air Force, where an apprenticeship led to expertise in airframes and engines.
