Jordi Rodó Morera

Jordi Rodó Morera has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies.

Jordi is currently working at Svar Life Science AB as the Global Innovation & Scientific Lead since September 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Scientific Lead & Senior Scientist from April 2022 to August 2022. Jordi also worked as a Research Scientist from December 2020 to March 2022, focusing on developing in vitro assays for gene therapy using iLite technology.

Before joining Svar Life Science AB, Jordi held multiple roles at the Center of Animal Biotechnology and Gene Therapy. Jordi was a PostDoc from August 2019 to December 2020, where they integrated transcriptomic data to discover therapeutic genes. Jordi completed their Ph.D. in Biochemistry at the same institution from September 2014 to July 2019, specializing in using gene therapy to counteract metabolic and rare diseases. Additionally, as a Master Student from September 2013 to September 2014, they worked on translational projects involving animal models of diabetes and obesity.

Jordi also has experience at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where they served as the President of the Student Council from May 2013 to June 2014. Jordi was actively involved in university governance, participating in various committees and councils. Furthermore, they were the Vice President of the UAB student council from May 2012 to April 2013.

Jordi also worked as part of Ingemar André's research group during an Erasmus work placement at Lund University from June 2012 to September 2012. In addition, they gained laboratory experience as a Laboratory Assistant at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in June and July 2011.

Jordi Rodó Morera completed their education in a chronological sequence. Starting from 2009 to 2013, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Following this, from 2013 to 2014, they pursued and earned a Master's degree in the same field at the same institution.

In 2014, Jordi Rodó Morera further enhanced their expertise by completing the "FELASA (A, B, C & D) course in Laboratory Animal Science for scientists responsible for the design or conduct of animal experiments" offered by the FEDERATION OF EUROPEAN LABORATORY ANIMAL SCIENCE ASSOCIATIONS.

Building upon their knowledge, Jordi Rodó Morera then enrolled in Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona again and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Gene/Genetic Therapy from 2015 to 2019.

Additionally, in 2018, they attended a brief course titled "Data Science: applications to biology and medicine with Phyton and R" at Universitat de Barcelona, where they gained proficiency in Data Processing, Data Analysis, and Python.
