Waqas Baig

Waqas Baig is an accomplished Control Systems Engineer with a diverse background in electrical engineering. Currently employed at Svenska kraftnät since March 2023, Waqas previously held senior consultancy roles at Hitachi Energy from April 2019 to March 2023, and served as Design Lead for electrical plant design at ABB, focusing on the NordLink HVDC converter station. Earlier experience includes work as an Electric Design Engineer at ABB, involvement in a grid interconnection project at Engro Polymer & Chemicals Ltd, and conducting a master's thesis on transformer behavior at OKG AB. Waqas holds a Master of Science in Electric Power Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology, an MBA from Blekinge Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology.
