Katia Guterstam

Katia Guterstam is an experienced kantor and mezzo-soprano with a diverse background in church music and performance. Since February 2016, Katia has served as a kantor at Svenska kyrkan Vårgårda, leading choirs and participating in various musical activities. As a freelance mezzo-soprano since July 2012, Katia performs as a singer, choir member, and church musician, specializing in sacred and secular music from the Baroque era, opera arias, Swedish folk songs, and romances. Previous roles include kantor at Nödinge församling and a substitute choir member at Haga Motettkör in Göteborg. Katia's extensive experience as a substitute church musician with Svenska kyrkan from 2003 to 2013 involved conducting choirs and officiating at services. Educational credentials include a degree in Church Music from 2007, with prior music education at various institutions, including Hvitfeldska musikgymnasiet.
