Alessandro Monaco currently serves as the Nation Leader for Italy at SVEXA. Prior to this, they worked as a healthcare, pharma, and biotech consultant. From January 2015 to December 2016, Monaco was the International Project Coordinator at University of Brescia where they served as scientific and organizational liaison for the school's Internationalization Program. In this role, they provided ongoing support for healthcare-related projects, programs, and logistics - including international network development, procurement of research funding, and information concerning the policies and procedures of the program and its mission.
During their time at University of Brescia, Monaco was responsible for developing sustainable, collaborative relationships with international research institutions - including the European Commission, University of California-Irvine, MD Anderson Cancer Center-Houston TX, Mayo Clinic-Rochester MN, University of Valencia, University of Porto, Erasmus University of Rotterdam and others. Alessandro also played a key role in enabling UniBS's entry into the European Commission funding and networking programs to support scientific and academic development. In addition, Monaco forged an active partnership of UniBS to the European Innovation Partnership on Active & Healthy Ageing (EIP-AHA) and supported membership with the Health Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC Health).
Alessandro Monaco has a Master of Business Administration from HEC Paris, a Master in Executive Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Administration from LUISS Business School, a PhD in Haematology from Sapienza Università di Roma, and is a certified biologist from Abilitazione all'esercizio della professione di biologo. Alessandro also has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Biotechnology from Università degli Studi di Torino and a Diploma di Maturità Scientifca in Sciences from Liceo Scientifico "G. Moscati".
