Vlad Merticariu

Vlad Merticariu has been a Senior Software Engineer at Swaarm since 2020. Previously, they were a Senior Software Engineer at rasdaman GmbH from 2013-2020, where they developed enterprise features for the rasdaman database engine. Vlad focused on improving scalability by exploiting parallelism in cloud architectures, designing, implementing and optimizing query processing modules, as well as developing and supervising development of standard-compliant interfaces. Vlad was the lead developer for data partitioning, replication and synchronization features of rasdaman in distributed environments for the Earthserver project. This project involved building an inter-continental federation of institutions that publish geo-spatial data (European Center for Medium Weather Forecast, European Space Agency, National Computational Infrastructure etc) using OGC services on top of rasdaman.

Vlad Merticariu obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Science from Jacobs University Bremen between 2009 and 2012.
