Martyn Cassell

Martyn Cassell has a diverse work experience in the local government and leisure sector. Martyn has held various roles at Swale Borough Council, starting as the Leisure and Technical Services Manager in February 2016. Later, they became the Head of Commissioning and Customer Contact in April 2017, and eventually moved up to the position of Head of Environment and Leisure in October 2018. Prior to their time at Swale Borough Council, Martyn worked at Thanet District Council as a Community Manager for ten years, gaining experience in sports development, foreshore management, community development, community safety, and events. Martyn also worked at Vista Leisure as an Activity Development Manager from 2003 to 2006, where they managed sports activities and supervised children's holiday camps and creches.

Martyn Cassell attended Chaucer Technology School in Canterbury from 1991 to 1998, where they completed their high school education and obtained their GCSEs and A-Levels. Afterward, from 1999 to 2002, they enrolled at Staffordshire University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Sport and Exercise Science.
