Eileen Sawyer has worked in the medical and clinical affairs field since 2007. Eileen began their career as a Neuroscience graduate student at Emory University, where they conducted research on pharmacotherapies for cocaine addiction. In 2012, they became a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard Medical School, where they designed and supervised studies examining the behavioral and neuropharmacological effects of sedatives. From 2011 to 2013, they were a Freelance Science Editor, providing developmental feedback for manuscripts intended for submission to peer-reviewed scientific journals. Eileen then joined Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as a Senior Manager and Manager of Scientific Communications from 2013 to 2016. In 2016, they joined uniQure as a Vice President, Global Medical Affairs, Senior Director, Global Medical Affairs, Director, Global Medical Affairs, and Director of Scientific Communications, Medical Affairs. Currently, they are the SVP of Clinical and Medical Affairs at SwanBio Therapeutics.
Eileen Sawyer completed their PhD in Neuroscience from Emory University in 2011. Prior to that, they earned a B.A. in Psychology with Highest Honors and a Minor in Religion from Smith College in 2007.
