Jori Ahvonen

Jori Ahvonen is the CTO at Swappie. Prior to joining Swappie, Jori was the Head of Engineering at Zalando SE from April 2016 to April 2020. In this role, Jori was responsible for building modern autonomous product organisations and contributing to understanding customer problems and choosing the technical levers to solve them. Under Jori's leadership, the engineering organisation built customer problem-oriented solutions using the full engineering toolkit of modern functional languages and microservices in AWS to solve customer problems in the right scale. The organisation solved customer pain points and showed significant impact to customer satisfaction, revenue and profit validated with A/B tests and holdout groups. The team worked in a highly efficient outcome driven agile mode, using the Radical Focus Objectives and Key Results.

Prior to joining Zalando, Jori had extensive experience leading teams and specialists in product management, analytics, engineering and leadership roles. Jori is a transformational leader with a proven track record in developing successful product development strategies and implementing OKRs. Jori also has extensive experience in re-orienting teams and ramping down topics and re-allocating and engaging talent to new challenges.

Jori Ahvonen has a M.Sc Engg in Software Engineering, Information Systems Sciences, and Process Engineering from Turun yliopisto - University of Turku. They also have a certification from Duolingo in Duolingo Spanish Fluency: Advanced (Estimated).
