Jim Bock is the VP and Dean of Admissions at Swarthmore College. Jim has over fifteen years of experience in the corporate world, holding various positions in executive management, IT, and software development.
Bock began their career at Amgen in 2003, starting as the Director of the Global ERP Application Support & Development Organization. In this role, they oversaw the implementation and management of incident, change, configuration, and release management support for various business processes. Jim also chaired a cross-functional governance board to prioritize and sponsor improvements to the company's Global ERP platform.
In 2005, Bock was promoted to Director of the Global SAP Program. In this role, they co-managed SAP business process blueprinting with functional leadership teams, oversaw SAP functional design and configuration, and implemented a steady state support model for post-go-live SAP operations.
From 2005 to 2010, Bock served as Director of Corporate Functions. In this role, they were responsible for BU executive relationship management, IT strategy and portfolio roadmap planning, IT spend forecasting and budgeting, outsource service provider management, business requirements definition, enterprise application development and testing, and production support of multiple BUs. Jim also designed and chaired BU governance boards to prioritize enhancements and business process improvements.
Bock left Amgen in 2010 to join Swarthmore College. In their current role as VP & Dean of Admissions, they oversee all aspects of the admissions
