Hassan Ahmed

Hassan Ahmed has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies and positions. Hassan is currently serving as the Co-Founder, Chairman, and CEO at Sway AI since October 2022. Previously, they have held various roles at Sway AI, including Co-Founder since July 2022 and Chairman since February 2021.

Before their tenure at Sway AI, Hassan Ahmed co-founded Affirmed Networks in 2009 and served as its Chief Executive Officer until 2020. Additionally, they held the position of Senior Advisor at CHARLES RIVER VENTURES, LLC from February 2009 to April 2010.

Hassan Ahmed's earlier roles include serving as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman at Sonus from November 1998 to June 2008, and as the EVP and General Manager of Core Systems Division at Lucent Technologies in 1997. Prior to that, they held the position of Chief Technology Officer and VP of Engineering at Cascade Communications from 1995 to 1997.

Hassan Ahmed began their career as an Associate Professor at Boston University from 1986 to 1992. Hassan also worked as an Engineering Manager in the Digital Signal Processing Division at Analog Devices from 1984 to 1986.

Hassan Ahmed pursued their education in a chronological manner, starting with obtaining a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Systems Engineering from Carleton University in 1977. Following this, they advanced their educational pursuits and earned a Master's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering from Carleton University in 1979. Lastly, Hassan completed their academic journey with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Stanford University in 1982.
