Brittany Betz

Natural Resources Assistant Project Manager/biologist at SWCA

Brittany Betz began their work experience in 2016 as a Stream Ecologist at the Stream Ecology and Assessment Laboratory and a Biological Technician at Aquatic Bioassay and Consulting Laboratories. During their time at these positions, they gained experience in conducting surveys, mapping, and monitoring native plant populations and sensitive plant species. In 2017, they worked as a Conservation and Land Management Assistant Botanist at the Bureau of Land Management, where they managed the national native seed collection program and conducted rare plant surveys and wildlife surveys. Brittany also participated in habitat restoration projects and trained personnel in identifying special status and invasive plant species.

In 2018, Betz worked as a Biology Tutor at Tutoring Club, providing assistance to students in the subject. Brittany then joined SWCA Environmental Consultants in 2019, initially as a Biologist and later as a Natural Resources Assistant Project Manager/Biologist. In these roles, they contributed to project management and conducted fieldwork related to natural resources. Brittany'sresponsibilities at SWCA include overseeing projects and conducting surveys and assessments.

Brittany Betz obtained their Bachelor's degree in Biology from California State University, Long Beach. Brittany attended the university from 2012 to 2016. In addition to their degree, Brittany has obtained several certifications. In May 2022, they received the American Red Cross Adult First Aid/CPR/AED certification from the American Red Cross. In April 2021, they completed the Wetland Delineation certification from the Wetland Training Institute, Inc. In May 2017, they became a California Rapid Assessment Method Practitioner through the Southern California Coastal Water Research Project. Lastly, in May 2012, they obtained their SCUBA Diver Certification from NAUI Worldwide.
