Island Richards

Island Richards serves as a County Commissioner for Sweetwater County since January 2023 and is the President/CEO of Kayar Distributing, Inc., a chain of convenience stores, since 1981. Richards has an extensive background in governance, having held positions such as Board Member and former President of the Wyoming State Liquor Association, Commissioner on the Sweetwater County Planning & Zoning Board, and Board Member and former Chairman of the Wyoming Retail Association. Additionally, Richards served as a State Committeeman for the Wyoming Republican Party and has been involved with the White Mountain Water & Sewer District and Sweetwater County Fire District #1. Richards also hosted a radio talk show titled "Because Wyoming" from July 2017 to January 2019. Educational credentials include an Associate degree in Business Administration from Stevens-Henager College and a high school diploma from Rock Springs High School.
