James Louis has a diverse work experience. James started their career in 2008 as the owner of Jay Louis Firewood. From 2012-2013, they worked as an Independent Sales Representative for American Solar Direct, where they focused on door-to-door sales and building customer relationships. In 2014-2015, they were a Sunglass Specialist and Sales Associate at Freaky Tiki Tropical Optical, where they received recognition for their sales performance. In 2015, they had a Sales and Installation Internship at Ibis Networks, where they worked on managing plug load energy inefficiency. In 2016, they worked as a Marketing and Outreach Intern for Catching the Sun Documentary, assisting with community and academic outreach. From 2016-2017, they were a Sales Executive at Expansive LLC, specializing in selling subscription-based services for small businesses to maximize their marketing value on social media. Since 2017, they have worked at Swell Energy in various roles. James started as an Energy Advisor, became a Senior Energy Advisor, then served as a Team Lead and Lead Tesla Powerwall Trainer. Currently, they are the Sales Training and Development Manager, responsible for training the sales team on various aspects of solar energy and storage, as well as sales processes and programs. Throughout their career, James has achieved significant sales success and expertise in the renewable energy industry.

James Louis attended Carmel High School from 2008 to 2011. James then went on to study Psychology at Chapman University from 2011 to 2015 and graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science - BASc degree. Afterwards, they pursued further education at the University of Hawaii at Manoa from 2014 to 2016, focusing on Marketing and Communication for Sustainability.
