Ian Povey

SWIFT Director since 2022. Ian Povey is accountable for the run, change and continuous availability of the payments technology for the Group, as a systemically critical participant in the industry. Ian is focused on transformation and modernisation of the technology estate, collaborating with the business to continuously improve each customer journey.

Ian serves on the Board of Archa Ltd, an Australian based fintech, and the Board and Trustee of Charities Trust in the UK. Ian was previously CIO of Payments for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. A key deliverable being the build and delivery for Australia’s instant New Payments Platform (NPP) where Ian was also a member of the NPPA Board.

A career dedicated globally to payments, Ian has worked for PayPal, and organisations spanning different participant sectors from Government, Retail, Telecoms and public transportation.
