Full Stack Lead at Swift Medical

Chris Elder has worked in a variety of roles since 2010. In 2010, they were a Water Safety Instructor at Trinity Swim School, where they led swimming lessons for children aged 6 months to 12 years, gave feedback to parents, and was responsible for pool maintenance. In 2011, they became the Owner and Operator of Jump In Swim School, acting as a Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, Lifesaving Instructor and Lifeguard, as well as planning and running Red Cross swimming lessons and Bronze Star and Bronze Medallion programs. In 2013, they became Co-founder, Partner and Operator of Ehwol Longboards, responsible for design, manufacture, marketing and sale of custom longboards, designing and developing a company website, designing a company logo, and maintaining and advertising on social media. In 2014, they were a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of Toronto and a Research Student at The Hospital for Sick Children. In 2015, they were a Mobile Lead at Consult Conduit and a Hardware Designer at MagniWare Ltd., where they designed and prototyped amplification and filtering circuits for a wearable device, was involved in trouble shooting and tuning wireless Qi compatible inductive charging circuit and coil, and researched and selected integrated circuit components for a wearable device prototype. Since 2017, they have been a Full Stack Lead and Full Stack Developer at Swift Medical, where they have been working on developing technology to help doctors, nurses and caregivers analyze and communicate when treating a vast number of illnesses or trauma world-wide.

Chris Elder obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Guelph between 2010 and 2014. Chris then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Clinical Engineering from the University of Toronto between 2014 and 2016. Chris also obtained certifications in Machine Learning from Coursera in June 2017, the Canadian Securities Course from the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) in April 2017, a Lifesaving Instructor certification from the Lifesaving Society, and a Water Safety Instructor certification from the Red Cross.
