Mike Hawkes has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Mike is currently working at Swim England as the Head of Diversity and Inclusion since November 2022 and previously served as the Inclusion & Health and Safety Partner from August 2020 to November 2022. Before joining Swim England, Mike worked as an Inclusion Officer at Swim England from October 2019 to August 2020.

In addition to their work at Swim England, Mike also worked at IMAS - International Mixed Ability Sports as a Regional Development Manager since July 2022. Previously, they held the role of Project Manager at IMAS from March 2018 to October 2019, where they focused on promoting inclusive sports and engaging disabled individuals.

Before their time at IMAS, Mike worked as the Spirit of Rugby Project Coordinator at the Rugby Football Union from March 2015 to December 2017. Mike'srole involved working with the Spirit of 2012 Trust to support young people's involvement in their communities through sports, art, culture, education, or volunteering.

Mike's earliest work experience was at Aldi UK & Ireland, where they started as a Trainee Area Manager in August 2014 and progressed to store management within 7 months as part of the Aldi Graduate Scheme. Mike'sresponsibilities included coordinating shop floor staff and middle management, as well as handling cash transactions.

Mike Hawkes completed their Bachelor's degree in Sport Management at Loughborough University from 2011 to 2014. Mike then pursued an LLM in Sports Law and Practice at De Montfort University from 2018 to 2022. In 2020, they obtained the National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety from NEBOSH. Mike attended Sir John Leman High School from 2005 to 2010.
