Nia Bentall has extensive work experience in various roles related to organizing and advocacy. Nia currently serves as the Senior Director of Distributed Organizing at Swing Left, a position they have held since March 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Digital Organizing Program Director and College Programs Director at Swing Left from May 2021 to May 2021. Nia also served as the National Campus Program Manager at Swing Left from January 2018 to May 2021.
Before joining Swing Left, Nia worked as a Field Organizer and Deputy Field Coordinator at Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia from 2017 to 2021. Nia started their career in 2014 as a Public Policy staff member at the Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Action Alliance, and as a Health Center Advocacy Organizer at the Virginia League for Planned Parenthood from October 2014 to May 2015.
Nia's earlier experiences include working as a Campaign Intern at Terry McAuliffe for Governor in 2013, Research Assistant at the University of Virginia's Department of Politics Gender and Diversity Climate Committee from November 2012 to May 2013, Organizing Intern at the Virginia Organizing Project from June 2012 to May 2013, and Canvassing Director at the Mary Katherine Greenlaw for Mayor Campaign from February 2012 to May 2012.
Nia also gained experience as a Resident Assistant at the University of Mary Washington from August 2011 to May 2012.
Nia Bentall completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in American Government and Politics (United States) from the University of Virginia, where they attended from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, they attended the University of Mary Washington from 2010 to 2012, though they did not complete a degree or specify a field of study during that time.
