Theo Iaponas

Theo Iaponas is an experienced leader in the insurance and financial sectors, currently serving as CEO of Swiss Life International since July 2023. Prior to this role, Theo held several key positions at Swiss Life Global Solutions from February 2017 to July 2023, including Head of Global Employee Benefits and CEO of Swiss Life Luxembourg. Theo's career at Swiss Life began in February 2009, during which time responsibilities spanned Head of Corporate Clients, Head of Corporate Clients - Luxembourg, Head of Product & Business Development - Corporate Clients, and Marketing Reinsurance Actuary. This extensive experience includes expertise in retrocession portfolios, longevity swaps, financial reinsurance, and client management. Earlier in the career, Theo worked as a consultant at Watson Wyatt and completed an MBA internship at Mercer Health & Benefits. Theo began the professional journey as a Life Actuary at Minerva Insurance. Academic credentials include an MBA in Finance from UW Foster School of Business and a BA in Statistics from UC Santa Barbara.
