Anirban Bhowmik

Anirban Bhowmik is an experienced professional with a strong background in development and project management across various organizations. Currently serving as the Regional Director for Central and East Africa at Swisscontact since January 2017, Anirban is responsible for the growth and transformation of operations in the region. Previously, Anirban managed the country portfolio of Bangladesh as Country Director at Swisscontact, leading a team of approximately 100 staff and overseeing an annual turnover of about CHF 9 million. Additionally, Anirban has held positions such as Head of Portfolio at Swisscontact South Asia, Private Sector Development Adviser and Programme Management Adviser at DFID Bangladesh, and Programme Manager at Swisscontact-Katalyst. Anirban holds an MBA in Marketing from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka, and a Bachelor of Social Science in Economics from the Department of Economics, University of Dhaka.
