Julius Schwachheim

Head Of Capacity & Congestion Management at Swissgrid

Julius Schwachheim began their work experience in 2010 as an Engineer Intern at Brose. In 2013, they joined Swissgrid AG as a Praktikant before being promoted to the role of Senior Specialist Operational Planning. In 2016, they became the Head of Market Services Development and later transitioned to the role of Head of Capacity & Congestion Management, where they led a diverse team and was responsible for developing operational procedures and market rules to ensure a safe and reliable electricity supply within Switzerland. Julius also represented the company in strategic interactions and negotiations with authorities and business partners.

Julius Schwachheim has a diverse education history. Julius obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Technische Universität Ilmenau. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Energy Economics from both RWTH Aachen University and the University of Münster, completing their studies in 2016. Julius then further developed their knowledge and skills by attending the University of St.Gallen from 2020 to 2022, where they focused on Leadership & Management in the field of study. In addition to their academic achievements, they obtained a certification in Business & Technical English at level C1.1 CEF from HTWK Leipzig in January 2012.
