Marc Furrer

Marc Furrer has extensive work experience in the field of IT and security. Marc started their career in 1993 as a Research Engineer at EPFL and later worked as a Network Engineer at the University of Lausanne from 1996 to 1998. Marc then joined the ISO - International Organization for Standardization and served as an IT Coordinator - Technical Support from 1998 to 2000. In 2000, Marc joined Hospices Cantonaux Vaud as a Network Engineer before moving to Swissquote Bank in 2001. At Swissquote Bank, they initially worked as a Security Officer until 2006, when they were appointed as the Head of IT & Security.

Marc Furrer obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Haute école du paysage, d'ingénierie et d'architecture de Genève - HEPIA in the years 1984 to 1989. Marc then pursued their Master's degree in Computer Science / Communication System at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) from 1989 to 1993. Additionally, in 1992 to 1993, they attended EURECOM to specialize in Communication Systems. Marc Furrer also holds the certification of Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)², which was obtained in 2003.
