Oriana Imala-Hines has worked in a variety of roles since 2009. In 2009, they worked as a Telemarketer for C&K Investment Group. From 2012 to 2015, they were a Student Assistant at the Illinois Institute of Technology Career Management Center. In 2014, they worked as an Urban Collegiate Conservation Intern at the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. Oriana also worked as a Water Quality Lab Volunteer at the John G. Shedd Aquarium in 2014. In 2015, they were a Biosolids Department Intern at the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago. From 2016 to the present, they have been employed at Sword Bio, first as a Laboratory Assistant, then as a Research Associate I, followed by Research Associate II, and currently as Manager of Project Implementation. In these roles, they have performed laboratory testing, manufactured and performed quality control testing, written and trained personnel on established SOPs and work instructions, identified and established new processes and procedures, and provided project status updates to the senior leadership team.

Oriana Imala-Hines attended Morgan Park High School from 2007 to 2011, graduating with a High School Diploma. Oriana then went on to the Illinois Institute of Technology, obtaining a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Biology/Biological Sciences, General in 2015.
