Melissa Rothrock

Melissa Rothrock is an accomplished planner with extensive experience in transportation, research, and environmental education. Currently serving as Planner III at the Texas Department of Transportation since May 2020, Melissa engages with managers and officials to support transportation projects. As Tech Set up Crew Manager for SXSW since 2014, management of a large tablet fleet involves coordination of volunteers for badge validation. Previous roles include Research Specialist II at the Texas Water Development Board, where Melissa conducted water use research, and founding Savvy Upcycled, a company focused on upcycling discarded products. Melissa's early career includes positions in environmental research and education, reinforced by a Master of Science in Wildlife Ecology and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas State University.
