Hamish Sutherland

Hamish Sutherland is a seasoned professional in project management and commercial management, currently serving as a Senior Commercial Manager at Sydney Metro since November 2021. Sutherland has extensive experience across various companies, including Arcadis as a Commercial Manager, where skills in commercial and contractual management were demonstrated on significant projects like a $130 million Metro Station detailed design. Previous roles at AECOM and Arup involved overseeing large-scale constructions and advisory services for high-stakes transactions, including the $18 billion WestConnex project. Sutherland also founded Hambones Activewear, reflecting personal interests in active lifestyles. With a strong educational background, including a Master’s in Business Management from Monash University and a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from the University of Sydney, Sutherland has honed leading skills in financial analysis, project governance, and stakeholder engagement throughout a diverse career that began with foundational engineering roles at CPB Contractors and Mott MacDonald.
