Mike Digioia

Vice President, Communications at Symetra

Mike DiGioia has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Mike held the position of Vice President of Communications at Symetra, where they were responsible for overseeing media relations, employee communications, community relations, crisis communications planning, and C-level executive communications. Before that, they worked at JLM Partners, Inc. as a Vice President, developing and implementing strategic communications initiatives for clients in the pay-TV, wireless, consumer electronics, and digital media sectors. Mike also served as the Board President at DiscNW, a non-profit association focused on growing the sport of Ultimate in the Pacific Northwest, where they emphasized strategic planning, staff support, and board governance. In addition, they worked at Premera Blue Cross as a Communications Program Manager, overseeing the development of the marketing-communications function and leading cross-functional work between corporate communications, marketing, and healthcare services groups. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Manager of Public Relations at Cingular Wireless and as a Manager of Financial Communications and Public Relations at AT&T Wireless. Throughout their career, Mike has demonstrated expertise in strategic communications, media relations, executive communications, crisis communications, and community outreach.

Mike DiGioia earned their Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Penn State University from 1994 to 1998. During this time, they also pursued a Minor in Business with a Finance Emphasis at The Pennsylvania State University. In 1997, they briefly studied European Communications at The University of Manchester. In 2005 and 2006, they participated in a program called Leadership Tomorrow.
