Gary started their career at Racal Instruments, where they worked as a Mechanical Engineer on the development of a high-frequency combat radio system for the British Army. After that, they joined Ultra Electronics Precision Air Systems as a Mechanical Design Engineer, where they gained extensive experience in commercial, military, and ministry design environments.

Following their time at Ultra Electronics, Gary worked at Mechon Ltd, where they specialized in the design and installation of industrial ventilation systems.
