Symmetry Software is the payroll infrastructure for software & payroll platforms powering the paychecks of over 64 million workers each year. Our fully integrated suite of payroll tax APIs and software tools allows companies to solve tax compliance issues and build applications across the entirety of the payroll process.
About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a junior engineer. The ideal candidate will have 2-4+ years of full stack experience working with technologies such as Angular, React, and Spring Boot. Candidates must also exhibit proficiency in SQL, a strong understanding of relational database design, and exposure with AWS services.. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, be a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to details, and always be willing to learn and try out new ideas. About the Team:
Our team consists of 15 engineers, each bringing their own skills and experiences to the table. With a few engineers handling each product, we work closely together to drive success and achieve our goals. Our team is diverse in every sense of the word, with members ranging from those with 2 years of experience to seasoned professionals with over 20 years in the industry. Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:
- Learn the challenging domain of withholding taxes
- Communicate with stakeholders on a regular basis
- Collaborate with seasoned engineers to work on new product features
- Work on a scrum team to deliver bug fixes in a timely manner
Here’s what we're looking for:
- 2-4+ years of full stack experience
- Experience with Angular, React
- Exposure to backend development - Java, Spring boot a plus
- SQL and fundamentals of relational database design (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL)
- Experience with AWS service a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and within a fast-paced team environment
- Strong work ethic supported by solid time-management skills
- Passionate about creating memorable experiences for customers
- Interest in complex product development problems
- Appreciation for a collaborative, test-driven environment
- Experience turning wireframes and mockups into elegantly executed code
- Well-structured, easily maintainable, well-documented code that balances beauty and pragmatism
Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $110,000/yr to $132,000/yr in Scottsdale. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
Symmetry has a physical office space in Scottsdale. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role).
When approved to work from a location other than the office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required.
