Sekhar Sarukkai

Sekhar Sarukkai is a distinguished faculty member at the University of California, Berkeley, where since 2020, Sekhar has served as a Capstone Lecturer for the graduate Cybersecurity program and as an advisor at Berkeley Skydeck. Concurrently, Sekhar is an angel investor and advisor at SKR Angels and has held various prominent executive roles, including Operating Executive/Advisor at STG – Symphony Technology Group and VP, Fellow at McAfee. Sekhar founded and served as Chief Scientist and SVP of Engineering at Skyhigh Networks, which was acquired by McAfee, and co-founded the social enterprise Micrograam, addressing micro-financing for rural entrepreneurs in India. Previous positions include Senior Director of Engineering at Cisco Systems, Founder and CTO at Securent, Founder and CTO at Confluent Software, and Senior Researcher at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories. Sekhar holds both a Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from Indiana University Bloomington.
