Director at Symphony

Kate Chatzopoulos has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Kate currently holds the position of Director at Symphony since August 2020. Prior to this, they joined SIFMA in September 2022 as a member of the Asset Management Group Operations Executive Committee.

Before joining SIFMA, Kate worked at Societe Generale as the Director and Head of Americas Periodic Review (KYC/AML) from 2019 to 2020. Kate was responsible for leading and improving the quality and productivity of a 70+ person team across risk levels located in the US, Brazil, and India.

From 2018 to 2019, Kate served as the Director of Aladdin Business Development at BlackRock. Their role involved generating multi-million-dollar revenue by selling investment and risk management services to global organizations with a minimum of $10b in AUM. Kate collaborated with various stakeholders to execute deep-dive sessions for prospects and deliver the value proposition resulting in successful sales.

Prior to BlackRock, Kate worked at IHS Markit as the Director and Americas Head of KYC Solutions from 2015 to 2018. Kate played a crucial role in driving the growth and development of KYC Solutions, generating revenue in partnership with sales for existing and pipeline customers.

In 2011, Kate joined Barclays, where they held two roles. First, as the Director of Clarient Business Development, they played a key role in the consortium utility built by Barclays, BNY Mellon, Credit Suisse, DTCC, Goldman Sachs, and JP Morgan. Kate led global coordination and maintained relationships between Clarient, sales representatives, and clients in training, strategy, execution, and onboarding. Additionally, they influenced product and business development as a subject matter expert and participated in marketing, branding, event strategy, and thought leadership campaigns.

Later at Barclays, they were promoted to Vice President of Relationship Management and Client Strategy, where they headed the front-office Client Integration Group. Kate oversaw relationship management for the top 100 institutional clients globally and led industry-driven client events focused on regulations.

Kate began their career in 1998 at Lehman Brothers as a Project Manager and Sales Assistant in the Private Wealth Management division. Kate then moved on to UBS, where they worked as a Sales Assistant for the Institutional Mortgage Backed Securities Sales Desk from 2001 to 2005.

Throughout their career, Kate has consistently demonstrated strong leadership skills, revenue generation capabilities, and expertise in KYC/AML, sales, and relationship management.

Kate Chatzopoulos has a Bachelor's Degree in Communication and Media Studies with an emphasis on Broadcasting from Kean University. In 2013, they obtained a certification as a Certified Professional Life Coach with a focus on Energy Leadership and Awareness from iPEC Coaching. Additionally, they have obtained several other certifications, including Symphony Certified Associate Developer from Symphony in June 2022, Certified Career Coach from iPEC Coaching in 2013, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) from Scrum Alliance in July 2020, and Series 7 and Series 63 certifications from the SEC (exact years not provided).
