Chris Martin

Research Economist at Syndio

Chris Martin has a diverse work experience starting in 2004 as an English Teacher at International Language Programs. From 2008 to 2010, they worked as a Recreation Director at Catalyst Residential Treatment Center, where they managed a team and organized trips for addicted teenagers. Chris then worked as a Research Assistant at The Center for Public Lands and Rural Economics from 2009 to 2011, contributing to various studies and editing publications. Chris joined SSI in 2011 as an Account Manager and later became a Senior Account Manager, handling large accounts and overseeing project scoping and management. Starting in 2013, Chris worked at the University of Washington as an NSF GRFP Fellow until 2017. Chris then joined PayScale as a Manager in Data Research, leading the external research team and increasing the company's research coverage. From 2018 to 2021, Chris was a Senior Manager at Starbucks, focusing on compliance, analytics, and diversity. Currently, they hold the position of Research Economist and Research Manager at Syndio.

Chris Martin (he/him) received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from the Utah State University - Jon M. Huntsman School of Business in 2011. Following that, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Washington between 2013 and 2016.
