Stephen Oliver has had extensive work experience in the mining and civil engineering industry. Stephen started their career in 2008 as a Site Engineer at Leighton Contractors before moving on to NRW Civil & Mining as a Project Engineer/ Area Lead in 2012. Stephen then joined Watpac Civil & Mining, where they held positions as a Project Engineer and later a Project Manager. In 2017, they joined Alcoa as a Manager in the Capital Program for Bauxite. During their time at Alcoa, Stephen also held the role of Production Superintendent and Registered Deputy Manager, where they led a team and implemented a successful productivity transformation program. In 2022, they became the Operations Manager at Hawthorn Civil & Mining Services. Currently, Stephen is working as the Project Development Lead at Synergy, a leading electricity generation and retail corporation.
Stephen Oliver holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil from The University of Western Australia. Stephen also obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the same university. In addition, they have certifications in Financial Modelling from Corality Financial Modelling (obtained in 2019), PMP from the Project Management Institute (obtained in 2014), Cert IV Frontline Management (BSB40807) (obtained in 2009), Drive Vehicles - 4WD (TLIC107C) (obtained in 2007), and Senior/Apply First Aid (HLTFA311A) from St John Ambulance Australia (National Office) (obtained in 2005).
