Tuomas Näreoja is a seasoned researcher and educator specializing in bone biology, biomarker development for implant complications, and advanced in vitro models. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist at Synexa Life Sciences since January 2024, Tuomas has previously held positions as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Turku and a Group Leader at Karolinska Institutet, where notable contributions included the development of diagnostic tests for inflammatory osteolysis and studies on osteoclast differentiation. Tuomas's academic foundation includes a Ph.D. in Biophysics, Cell Biology, and Anatomy from the University of Turku, complemented by a Master’s degree in Biotechnology. Throughout the career, Tuomas has significantly advanced the understanding of bone remodeling and has mentored numerous undergraduate and graduate students.
