Veena Somasundaram

Veena Somasundaram is an experienced professional in the biotechnology field, currently serving as Principal Investigator at Syngene International Limited since October 2022. Prior to this role, Somasundaram worked as Associate Principal Scientist at Biofusion Therapeutics and briefly held the position of Associate Scientific Manager II at Biocon in mid-2021. A substantial tenure at the National Cancer Institute included roles as Research Fellow and Visiting Fellow (Postdoctoral) from July 2015 to April 2021. Early career experiences include a Graduate Student position at RGCB - Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology and a Summer Internship at ACTREC in early 2007. Somasundaram holds a PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Kerala and a Master's in Biotechnology with a focus on Cancer Biology from Bharathiar University.
