Kareem Abdelshafy

Kareem Abdelshafy is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in research and development, currently serving as a Staff R&D Engineer at Synopsys Inc since September 2022. Prior to this role, Kareem held positions as a Senior R&D Engineer and Lead Software Engineer at Cadence Design Systems, focusing on the C++ development of the Spectre FX FastSPICE simulator engine, achieving a 15% reduction in memory footprint. Additional experience includes working as a Robotics Software Engineer at Medtronic, where Kareem designed software for robotic arm control and collision avoidance, as well as research assistant roles at Northeastern University and Boston University, developing high-performance computational code and engaging in nonlinear dynamics projects.
